For years, car manufacturers have been designing high-performance digital supercars or hypercars as part of the Vision Gran Turismo collaboration that gives us a glimpse of what they can do without limitations or limitations on creativity or innovation. But these concepts have always remained in virtual reality. It can only be experienced in virtual reality so far.

McLaren Automotive has revealed the McLaren Solos GT; the stunning realization of a concept car from virtual racing screens to a quintessential expression of engaging track driving that will spark joy in the real world.

The McLaren Solos GT has been designed to be a true road car by drawing on the full range of McLaren's experience and expertise across the highest levels of motorsport, hypercar and supercar development. The McLaren Solus GT has its roots in a stunning concept featured in the Gran Turismo Sport video game.

Under the hood, McLaren has got a 5.2 liter V10 LMP racing engine from Good Power, which is the same engine it uses in Formula 1 cars.

Built using low-volume automated components, that revs at over 10,000rpm and delivers top-notch performance. In addition to having power and torque outputs in excess respectively of 829 hp and 479 pounds-Foot (650 Nm) of torque, and are sent to the rear axle via a seven-speed sequential gearbox.

The summary of this performance and power, the Solus GT goes from 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 322 km/h.

At each corner, 18-inch wheels are shod in Le Mans Prototype, while the wheels themselves house six-piston monobloc aluminum brake calipers.

In combination with the car’s lightweight and strong aerodynamic capabilities – the McLaren Solus GT has the performance credentials needed for an extreme track machine.

The McLaren Solus GT exterior looks unlike anything else in existence ( Part Formula 1 car and part Le Mans prototype). The remarkable exterior design, which is remarkably true to its virtual inspiration, is based on proven aerodynamic principles and the McLaren design ethos.

The all-carbon body appears shrink-wrapped to fit the chassis as tightly as possible, not allowing any unused air or moving around to maximize downforce and minimize drag.

Not only does the front end actuate the front aerodynamics, but it also channels air into two full-length tunnels to produce a ground-effect system to keep the Solus GT stuck to the ground.

Not only do fenders provide the driver with a visual aid to position the vehicle on the correct track, but they also help with airflow around the front and rear tires. The fixed, two-element rear spoiler is key to downforce that exceeds the overall vehicle weight.

The teardrop shape is purposefully designed to calm turbulent air from the tire heels as well as reduce air pressure building up inside the wheel well. The rear bodywork can also be removed for easy access to the engine and transmission.

Debuting in white with blue accents, the colors of the McLaren Solus GT will be entirely up to the buyer.

The Solus GT McLaren driving experience begins even before the V10 engine kicks in - just stepping into the cockpit is an event in itself, as it contains an impressive number of amenities.

The F1-inspired carbon fiber steering wheel houses the bulk of the buttons, along with a TFT instrument display screen for necessary information.

Recent technological safety innovations from the highest levels of motorsport are integrated into the design, with a canopy reinforced with a halo structure to protect the driver.

An escape hatch was also built into the canopy to allow safe departure from the cockpit should the glide mechanism become obstructed.

The seat is molded to the driver's body and utilizes a six-point racing harness to keep you in place, and the pedal box adjusts, so drivers of different stature can pilot the car.

Above the driver’s head are switches for vehicle ignition and the fully plumbed-in emergency fire extinguisher. This area also houses the rear-view display, streamed in real-time from a camera located on the roll hoop behind the driver’s head.

Incidentally, McLaren includes an FIA-homologated race suit, helmet, and head-and-neck safety device as part of the package.

The McLaren Solus GT was unveiled as part of the Monterey Car Week festivities in California, and will be launched in 2023.

Only 25 units will be produced worldwide and none of them will be used for road use, so your chance of seeing one is slim to none.

All 25 cars have already been sold, with reports confirming a price of $4 million. Of course, with a large amount, the customer can specify the specifications he desires and may increase the price.

The McLaren Solus GT is currently at the track-testing stage of its development process.
