The new Ford GT Mk IV by Ford Performance and Multimatic is a radically advanced supercar with a unique body, powertrain, and suspension that represents the ultimate and most extreme track-only Ford GT ever.

The Ford GT Mk IV has a unique twin-turbo EcoBoost engine, targeted to deliver more than 800 horsepower, racing transmission, aero-focused exterior design, and chassis with a longer wheelbase for greater on-track handling to deliver unrestricted performance, exceeding that of any Ford GT to date.

Although the new GT Mk IV's speed is unknown, it will undoubtedly be faster than the standard model. The latter can reach a high speed of 205 mph (330 km/h) and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in around 3 seconds.

Ford engineers and Kar Kraft created a new lightweight chassis using adhesive bonded honeycombed aluminum construction with a more aerodynamic body and called it the "J-Car" because it was constructed in accordance with the new FIA Appendix J rules. This was done to take advantage of new material science advantages.

“The original GT Mk IV held nothing back for max track performance, and the new Ford GT Mk IV brings it in the same way,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “With an even higher-level of motorsport engineering and performance, plus a completely new carbon fiber body that is functional and striking, the Mk IV is the ultimate sendoff of the third-generation supercar.”

The 1967 Ford GT Mk IV was 9 inches longer and designed primarily to win international endurance racing when coupled with the renowned 427 Ford V-8 (7L) engine and a unique transaxle with its own cooling system that sent power to the rear wheels.

Only 67 of the hand-built supercars will be made in Multimatic's Markham, Ontario, plant as part of the new Ford GT Mk IV, which pays homage to the year the original Mk IV won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The $1.7 million (MSRP) supercar will kick off a new customer application process, with customer selections confirmed in the first quarter of 2023. Deliveries will begin in late spring 2023.
